Selection of Launch Monitors

Critical component of your simulator

Selecting the right Launch Monitor is critical for your golf simulator.

Whatever your budget there is a range of options.

For indoor usage and especially where space is limited, then camera based launch monitors that stand on the floor may be ideal - these include Foresight Sports GCQuad, GC3, GC2, Bushnell Launch Pro, SkyTrak+, SkyTrak, Uneekor EYE Mini.

If you want left and right handed support then you are best off selecting a ceiling mounted system (Uneekor EYE XO 2 or GCHawk) or a radar system that will sit behind your hitting position (TrackMan, FlightScope Mevo+, Rapsodo MLM2PRO or Garmin R10.

There are often limiting factors that may affect your choice:-

Ceiling Mounted systems do sometimes require more height than some have (my own setup for example).

Radar systems often require longer sim setups, with more ball flight, in order to get better spin axis readings.

Some launch monitors may require you to use specific golf balls, metallic/shiny dots in order to get better ball/club data. Some launch monitors won't provide any club data at all.

Furthermore, some launch monitor manufacturers will tie you into their own proprietary software. But what if you would like to use more affordable options like GSPro? In those cases you would need to ensure that you select a Launch Monitor where software integration is officially supported - or supported via the community.;
